Little Miss Sunshine

Lydia and I went to visit Poppa and Mimi last week while Matt attended a Men's Conference at our church. Lydia was very interested in all of the activities going on throughout the airport. At home we talk about the airport and airplanes quite often. She loves to point to the sky and shout "airplane!" Lydia was an excellent flier to and from our trip to Arizona.

During our visit Lydia got to spend time with her cousins and Uncle Adam, play with puppies, eat ice cream, explore the gardens, run around the play area, etc... It was a full few days! Our time in Arizona was so much fun. Lydia loved the extra attention from Poppa, Mimi, and Oliver the doggie.

The sunshine and warm weather followed us back home to the Midwest. Lydia has been enjoying our yard and playing in front of the house all week. Blowing bubbles is a favorite! Also, we are in need of upgrading her Winter toys to Spring toys very soon! She continues to pull her sled around and drag her snow shovel over the driveway.

Happy Mother's Day this weekend to Grandma and Mimi! We love you!

The Piano Recital

  • Piano: Lydia
  • Audience: Bunny
  • Song: Unknown

We had front row seats to a rather interesting piano recital this week. Here is the setup.

According to the pianist, the audience went "poopoo" during the first song.

Which resulted in slight delay due to a diaper change.

And we're back.

Have a great weekend!

    The Zoo

Hello everybody! This is Lydia. I'm super excited to be doing the blog this week. I asked my parents if I could have an iPhone to send out some tweets and they said no but I could do the blog post instead. So here I am. Please note: I will have to use up all of my twitter hashtag lines here.

Here is a photo of the sky and a tree. #spring

If you look closely you will see that the tree is budding. I believe this means that I will be spending more time outdoors swinging and playing. #awesome

Speaking of swinging, here I am with some of my friends. #besties

And here is my reaction every time I see an airplane. #bringyourkidtoworkdayplease

Here are a few more photos of me hanging out. #punintended

And this is something my parents thought could really go either way. #experiment

    Thankfully it ended well.

Here I am eating my favorite meal. #smoothie

And now we come to the main event. Yesterday my parents took me to the zoo. #exciting

I am a huge animal fan. I love monkeys and elephants and monkeys and cows and monkeys and giraffes and monkeys and pigs and monkeys. I was very excited to go to the zoo. We drove and drove and after forever we arrived. My parents said it took about 20 minutes. #splitthedifference

For a little background to the zoo story, I will add that it has been very nice and warm and sunny all week here. When we arrived at the zoo it had magically changed to very cold and windy and cloudy. #noworriesihaveextrapadding

My parents did some type of mathematics with the man in the zoo parking booth and determined it was best to buy a season pass to the zoo. #bestnewsoftheweek

After buying the season pass to the zoo, my parents did some type of mathematics with each other and determined it was too cold to actually enter the zoo and go see anything like a monkey or elephant or monkey or cow or monkey or giraffe or monkey or pig or monkey. #worstnewsoftheweek

So my parents took me to the botanical garden instead. #theymeantwell

You have to pay to get into the zoo. The botanical garden is free. #justsaying

So here are some photos of me. Looking at plants.

I then saw the coin fountain and decided that it could be worse.

    #toosoon?

This flower arrangement was not exactly what I thought I was in for when we left home to see animals today. #notfunny

My parents tried. They really did.

Thanks mom. Great time. Let me help you with this. #home

    Just to recap. #summary

And that was our trip to the zoo.

    Have a great weekend!

    Peek-a-Boo and Park

Lydia loves to play peek-a-boo. We have a double entryway to our home that Lydia uses as her main peek-a-boo hiding spot. It has a window to the dining room that she uses to launch most of her surprise sneak attacks. She finds this to be absolutely hilarious. After popping up and laughing she then runs around the corner and surprises me yet again.

Unless she gets distracted by finding my shoes. Ending the game.

The weather has been very nice here this week. Here are some photos of Lydia at the park.

And here are some random photos of Lydia helping out in the kitchen, eating, and playing around. Mostly just playing around.

    Have a great week!
