Glasses

Lydia's first week with glasses went very well. We were skeptical as to whether she actually needed them or not at first, but after several different tests giving the same results, we gave it a try. The second Lydia put her glasses on we could tell by the way her eyes lit up and started scanning the room that the tests were correct. Here are some recent photos.

Have a great week!

Mostly Reading

We used our season pass to the zoo last weekend and Lydia got to check out a few more animals. Lydia loves babies and her excitement level peaked at the zoo when we saw that the monkeys were taking care of a little one of their own.

Here is one of Lydia looking out the front door at the garbage man. This is also one of her favorite things to do.

Lydia also loves to read. We have been reading to her a lot and she has been reading to herself a lot as well. Here are some photos of us reading.

Have a great week!

Glen Lake

Last week we traveled up to Glen Lake to visit family. We had a great time catching up and Lydia was quite popular. It was nice for Lydia to meet some of her family for the first time.

Lydia is always very excited to see Grandma and this trip was no different. What was different was Lydia's excitement level around her new BFF Boris - a German Shepherd. She has been asking for Boris daily since we returned. Other things that Lydia enjoyed while visiting northern Michigan include driving aunt Barb's boat*, playing in the sand, seeing a mouse hunt, hearing her dad and his cousin Kevin have very deep philosophical conversations, meeting Grandma Great, and going to the Totem....Shop. Lydia has also been saying "sorry, no R's" and "daily double" but we aren't quite sure what this is about**.

*Thank you Barb for taking us out in the boat!!

**This statement is not true and is for entertainment purposes only.

Here are an excessively high number of photos from the trip.

Here are some random B&Ws from the trip.

And if that isn't enough for you, here are some photos from the Fourth of July parade here in town and of our BBQ afterwords.

Have a great week!
