We have been going through an advent series this month, reading a Bible passage each night with the opening of an ornament that Lydia places on our advent tree. It is always a special time for our family to slow down and hopefully remember what this season is all about. On that topic, our Pastor from Vancouver sent out a letter to FaithVan church with some helpful ideas pointing us to some of the truths we sometimes miss during this season. As most of us have Christmas trees in our home, we were encouraged to meditate on this ironic truth: Jesus, who created the world and everything in it, also created trees. Jesus did this knowing He would one day be crucified on one in our place. Christmastime is when we celebrate the birth of our Savior, who came into the world to seek and to save the lost. What a gift.
